Spring and Summer
Spring and Summer are really exciting on the central coast of California. I am very fortunate to have a kitchen garden which we plant every year. Spring is a busy time for plating and getting our growing palate ready. We grow our own Lemons, Limes & Apples. This year we will also have Gold Tomatoes, Italian Parsley, Assorted Basil, Rainbow Swiss Chard, Mizzuna, Fennel, Mint & Rosemary. I also garnish a lot of my plates with edible flowers we grow right out back like Nasturtiums, Pansy’s, Roses, Geraniums, Fuchsias, Calendulas, Bachelor Buttons, Coreopsis just to name a few.
As summer rolls in the heat helps ripen luscious and tasty vine ripened tomatoes and brings us tender White Sweet Corn, Watermelon, Summer Squash. Along with the summer time fun comes festive occasions like weddings and fun summer parties! We look forward to seeing you here at Tarpy’s to sample our ever changing menu and menu additions.
