Tarpy’s Roadhouse offers a full-service banquet department. There are three private rooms as well as three
semi-private rooms to choose from when planning your special event or function. Some rooms are subject to a
room fee. We also have available the latest Multi-Media tools to add polish to your event!
The Tack Room  (Click for more Info)
The Tack Room, a private room named for its prior tack equipment use,
is a perfect location for small gatherings, or a business meeting for up to
16 people.
The Stone Room   (Click for more Info)
Is the first room when you enter the restaurant. It houses our full service
bar & wine cave. Constructed of Carmel River stone with a ceiling of
massive beams, it's a dramatic, lively semi-private setting for up to 30
guests.
The Shell Room   (Click for more info)
The Shell Room, named for the whimsical shell fireplace made for Opal
Ryan by  her father, looks out on the outdoor patio. This room
accommodates up to 24 people and is semi-private.
The Living Room
Located in the front of the restaurant with windows that open up onto the
porch and a working fireplace it accommodates up to 60 guests
comfortably.

Our newest addition is a private room, which seats up to 32 people.
Large windows overlook the picturesque gardens and wishing well. The
Vintner's Room includes a display of some of the area's best wines. It
can also be combined with Sarah’s Room to accommodate up to 60
people.
Sarah’s Room
Sarah’s Room, named for Sarah Nicholson, is a semi-private room,
which seats up to 30 people, can be combined with the Vintners Room
for larger parties.

Semi-private it seats about 26 guests and can be used in combination
with The Living Room and Sara's Room. Although outside, it can be
enclosed and has
heaters.
The Courtyard   (Click for more info)
Our beautiful, landscaped courtyard is a wonderful spot for cocktail
parties, weddings, sunny luncheons or dining under the stars. Maximum
seating is 80.Maximum standing, capacity is 150. There is a minimum
total expenditure and/or set up fee for exclusive use of the patio. Some
time restrictions may apply.

Perfect for sit-down parties of up to 80 people and cocktail parties or,
stand-up receptions for up to 120 people. With a fireplace, bookshelves,
great art and a private garden patio, you will have everything you need to
make your event a great success. Start your evening off with cocktails
and appetizers on the patio before retreating to the warmth of the fire-lit
Library for dinner. Or, consider how successful your business meeting or
seminar will be with our great food and beautiful room. Besides dinner
meetings, we can offer continental breakfast and lunch for full day
seminars, complete with audio-visual equipment. Some time restrictions
may apply. The patio is the perfect area to mingle before or during
your event. The beautiful outdoor terrace is also great for a small
ceremony or a live DJ and dancing!

Tarpy's Roadhouse is a Mobil 3-Star restaurant nestled in the rolling hills of Monterey. Set in the historical Ryan
Ranch Homestead, which dates back to 1917, Tarpy's Roadhouse successfully combines local history with
fabulous "Creative American Country" cuisine and great personal service. The rambling stone structure has
been an oasis since the 1940's when it housed the popular Cedemartori's. Today, the extensive gardens,
European-style courtyard, and cozy fire-lit interiors have made it a popular destination , once again, for locals
and out-of-town visitors alike. Chef Michael Kimmel has created a menu featuring updated versions of old-
fashioned "comfort" foods, using only the freshest of ingredients. Whether you enjoy a sunny luncheon or moonlit
dinner on the patio, a romantic encounter for two by the fireplace, or an elegant party in one of the many private
dining rooms, the great food, beautiful atmosphere and friendly, personal service combine to make dining at
Tarpy's Roadhouse an "extraordinary" experience!

Our cuisine is often called "Creative American Country". The menu offers a great assortment of fresh salads,
sandwiches, steaks, chicken, fresh seafood and pastas. In addition, an assortment of mouth-watering appetizers
and fantastic homemade desserts are available. A few of the favorite dinner entrees include the Bourbon
Molasses Pork Tenderloin, the Ranch Crusted Half Chicken, the Indiana Duck with Cabernet-Raspberry Glaze,
and the Grilled Salmon with Tomato-Cucumber Salsa & Lemon Beurre Blanc, Grilled Colossal Achiote Prawns

Tarpy's Roadhouse offers a bar fully stocked with the finest liquors including single malt scotches, 100% blue
agave tequilas, single barrel bourbons, fine cognacs, and even Italian grappas. Complete your meal with a
freshly made espresso or cappuccino.

Our list features over 150 wines from around the world. Highlighted are the very best from the state of California,
with special attention given to the wonderful local of Monterey County. Our wine list has received numerous
awards including Wine Spectator Magazine's Award of Excellence.

The Menu
Our Banquet Department will work with you to create a menu to suit both your
tastes and your budget. For sit-down meals of 20 or more people, we will set up
a Fixed Price Menu focusing on 2 entrees for your guests to choose from when
they arrive. Once the entree choices are decided upon, we can then add
appetizers, soup or salad and dessert courses to complete your menu. We can
also work with the Chef to create Buffet-Style Menus, or Appetizer Menus,
according to your individual needs.
