This November, the scenic Big Sur coast (just south of Carmel) will be home to the Big Sur Food & Wine Festival. Join chefs from all over America and learn what it takes to be a professional chef!
The event will showcase live demonstrations from cooking experts including chefs from big restaurants like Rio Grill, Tarpy’s and Montrio, among many others.
You can also attend presentations on food safety for restaurants and farmers markets.
The festival includes a walking tour of the Big Sur coast and a special “Big Sur Grand Tasting” where you can taste food and wine from the local community.
In addition, you can expand your skills by taking classes on knife skills and cooking fundamentals. You can also enter the blind wine tasting contest to test how much you learned!
The event, usually held annually, will this year happen on Thursday, November 4 to Saturday, November 6. This is three days of fruity and sweet wine tastings as well as fantastic foods prepared by talented chefs.
In addition to the Big Sur Grand Tasting, the event will feature a mix of cooking demonstrations and classes that will help you improve your skills and broaden your horizons in the kitchen.
For those who want to savor nature, there will be several eco-tours available. These tours will take you through Big Sur’s beautiful redwood forests and show how the Big Sur coast has been restored after it was damaged in the 1989 earthquake.
Big Sur Food & Wine Festival is a fun and educational event for food lovers of all ages! To make sure you don’t miss out, make sure you secure your ticket as early as possible.
Tarpy’s Roadhouse is the best place to grab a steak, a fish, or even a burger. We have been voted Best Restaurant by the Monterey Herald for over 15 years! Ordering off of the website takes you straight to the kitchen where friendly chefs prepare your order for pick-up or eat-in.
Upon arrival, the friendly servers will immediately take your order and show you to your table. The menu is well planned with all of your favorites as well as many new items that may not be on other menus around town.
If you love seafood, try the famous Fish Tacos. If you’re a light food lover, we have created some delicious new sandwiches for you to enjoy. If you’re in the mood for one of the favorites that have been serving for over 12 years, you cannot go wrong with the Roadhouse Cheeseburger.
The kids menu is also well thought out and designed to keep every child happy.
So, while grabbing your ticket for the Big Sur Food & Wine Festival, be sure to also make a reservation at Tarpy’s Roadhouse for a complete experience.
