It was the Great Famine of the late 1840s that brought Irishman Matt Tarpy to California, where he became a respected land owner. Known throughout the region as a skilled horseman, an expert tracker—and, as fate would have it, a deadly marksman. Matt Tarpy was hanged at Tarpy's Flats (Site of Tarpy's Restaurant). Although Matt Tarpy continued to maintain his innocence he was hanged near his home. Later on the site became known as Tarpy's Flats and the site for Tarpy's.

Our server, Nick, was a MILLION out of 10! He was such an amazing server, I would eat there again even if the food was bad... which it wasn't, it was fabulous! The food, the presentation, the service, the atmosphere was all wonderful. And for those needing gluten free, look no further.
Went with my spouse, a school friend, and a service dog. Called in advance to ensure seating and allowance for a service dog in training (no issues). Everyone was polite, courteous, and attentive. Food was generous and delicious.
A very nice place! We celebrated our 10th anniversary there. Our waitress, Carel G, was very friendly. We ordered New York steak and salmon, which were delicious. We will definitely go back.
